ChatGPT is a text based AI model. But can it support all languages?

I put it to the test by using a remote South Indian language “Telugu” that my family speaks. This is not a very popular language, and ChatGPT could fluently understand and respond in the language’s original script. I also tested other languages like Spanish and Korean. ChatGPT can respond to your question in native script as well as transliteration of the language. It's response is based on how you ask the question.

My research also shows that ChatGPT can understand abbreviations and slang words immediately. For example, text abbreviations like LOL, ROFL, WYD etc. It could easily understand slang words like wassup, bussin, and no cap etc. So, yes ChatGPT is a polyglot. It understands almost every official language documented on the internet.

When I think about the diverse population in the world, one thing ChatGPT is missing is supporting people with language disabilities. Although it can simplify its text responses for better understanding, it cannot cannot read its responses out loud for people with reading disabilities. It is also not able to accept audio inputs. I think one simple improvement open AI can do is put a button that reads the response out loud to people with disabilities.
